Student Profile

The Student Profile is a snapshot of key data for an individual student. It compiles all the data we have for a student into categories (e.g., attendance, credits, etc.) to give a comprehensive picture of where the student is and what supports they may need.

Data Grid

The Data Grid displays student level data in a spreadsheet-like format. It allows you to create and save custom views of data, sort and filter to identify custom student groups, and take bulk actions on those students.

Dashboards

Bringing together both process and outcome metrics, the tabs at the top (Setup, Monitor, and Respond) allow schools to customize metrics to fit their school context, monitor progress of students against their specific metrics, and easily respond to students who are showing signs of needing support.

Impact on graduation rates

Using Strategic Data Check-ins (SDCs) strategy and technology, New Visions coaches supported 26 of NYCs lowest performing high schools in achieving statistically significant improvements in graduation outcomes between 2016 and 2018. Even after this more intensive support ended, schools continued to actively use the Portal, and the gap between their graduation rates and the citywide average continued to dramatically narrow.
Impact on attendance

We have found that schools that are high or medium users of our tool have increased their YTD attendance and decreased their chronic absenteeism at higher rates than schools that are low or non-users — a strong correlation that schools that use the Portal regularly have upward trends on attendance.
