About New Visions

For over three decades, New Visions for Public Schools has played a central role in improving the quality of New York City public schools and removing barriers to the success of low-income students and students of color.

New Visions focuses on providing educators with the tools, resources, and support to build and continuously improve strong and responsive systems. These include major investments in student planning tools, free and high-quality curriculum, and innovative career & college preparatory programs.

What the Portal Offers

  • Attendance

    Identify students who need Attendance supports. Use daily updated dashboards to provide an accurate picture of attendance trends.

  • Course Planning

    Ensure High School students remain on track for graduation by checking students' current programs and transcripts against your school's custom grad planning metrics.

  • Graduation Planning

    Identify High School diploma plans and graduation dates for individual High School students. Monitor students’ progress towards their plans based on school-based course and exam sequencing.

  • Supports

    Identify groups of students who need a specific intervention and assign them to a Support to easily monitor progress.

  • Marking Period Grade Analysis

    Identify students who are in danger of failing or underperforming in courses and assign them to Supports.

  • Network Dashboard

    School Partners can quickly access the key data points required to support a caseload of schools, including demographic, graduation, attendance, state exams, credits, and more in one single place.

  • Postsecondary Planning

    Postsecondary features equip High School leaders, counselors, teachers, and approved partners to plan a postsecondary future with students.

  • Every Child and Family is Known

    Every Child and Family is Known is an interagency collaboration between NYC Department of Homeless Services, NYC Public Schools, and the NYC Children’s Cabinet. As a part of this work, we have built a Family Portal to allow guardians to communicate directly with Caring Adults.

  • CUNY College Now

    The College Now program offers NYC public high school students both transferable college credit and courses designed to increase academic readiness for college.
